Just in time for holiday season, Jed Root colorist Jason Backe talk to Elle on how to get the perfect shade of red.
ELLE: What are some important things to keep in mind when going red for winter?
Jason Backe: Consider your skin tone. If you are fair, light-eyed, and burn easily in the sun, you want to have a more copper red—think Marcia Cross. If you tan easily or have a dark or olive complexion, stay away from copper and go for true red or even red-violet. Red shades tend to fade, so make sure your home maintenance helps resist fading. I love the L'Oréal Professionnel INOA Color Care Sulfate-Free Shampoo and Conditioner. It's loaded with vitamins and has argan oil for amazing shine—and the lather is insane!
