Jed Root, Ltd. manicurist Sarah Bacchus is only in the midst of her first editorial season and already the demand for her services is exceeding expectations. In order for our readers to learn a little bit more about our artist, we asked her five quick questions.
1. When did you know that you wanted to be a manicurist?
I always try my best to look as immaculate as possible. When I couldn’t find anyone that could get my nails as good as I wanted them, I started to look into it a bit more and ended up on a training course.
Knowing that there is no reason why a nail enhancement couldn’t look like a real nail, I kept working on my skills and now produce natural looking nails for all occasions. This passion always keeps me pushing forward.
2. What’s the most challenging part of your job? Being good at something takes a lot of training and practice. I often meet people that have had bad experiences in the past with nail enhancements and manicures, so I spend a lot of my time helping to educate people about what should really be happening.
3. What about the most rewarding part? Getting to see the end result is always great, but the positive reaction I get from all my clients is always an added bonus.
4. Whose hands would you most like to get your hands on? Sarah Jessica Parker is definitely number one on my list. I really like her style, but I am sure our mutual love of shoes would also come up in conversation.
5. Do you have any interesting resolutions for the new year?
I try not to make too many New Year resolutions, so I can have an excuse to try new things all through the year.
If I had to make any, it would be to get a bigger studio for my nail work and to get my sewing machine out to start my dress making again.
Thanks Sarah!
